Rangers v St Mirren by the numbers
Rangers take on St Mirren today at Hampden Park in the first 2009 Homecoming Scottish Cup semi-final.
There have been 17 previous games between the two sides in the Scottish Cup, including two finals and four semi finals.
Rangers won both of the finals, but in the 4 previous semi-final meetings, Rangers have won 3 and St Mirren one - their only ever victory over Rangers in the competition.
After St Mirren’s only victory on 20th March 1926 (83 years ago) in that semi final, they then beat Celtic in the final and in the two times previously when have St Mirren beat Celtic in earlier rounds and played Rangers later in the competition, both time Rangers won.
Noteworthy fact, in the 3 times Rangers have beaten St Mirren in the semi final, they have never went on to win the competition…
