Hearts v Celtic by the numbers
This afternoon’s meeting between Hearts and Celtic will be the 275th league meeting between the two teams.
The history makes it the 2nd most played league game in Scottish football, after the Old Firm - this is due the Hearts playing Celtic before the suspension of the 1939-40 season and therefore playing once more than Hearts/Rangers.
The last two games at Tynecastle have ended in 1-1 draws, but even at home Hearts have not fared that well - winning 48 to losing 58, with 30 draws.
In Glasgow, they have done worse - with only 19 wins in 138 games, losing 85 times and coming away with 34 draws.
History, and current form, would point to a Celtic victory today, although Hearts have won once against Celtic in 3 of the last 4 seasons (not last season) and are therefore due a victory.
